2/27/2014 2 Comments Week 25Matthew is the size of a cauliflower! And apparently he now knows right-side-up from up-side-down :) I'll spare you all the motherly changes, 'cause they ain't pretty :)
Thanks to those of you who have already sent baby stuff--our living room looks like an Amazon.com warehouse right now! We really appreciate all the love & can't wait to share all the goodies during the online shower! Love to all! ~Daisha

2/24/2014 3 Comments BabyMoon in San Diego!Aron & I had a blast in San Diego! We took off on Thursday morning & arrived at the Naval Lodge on Navy Base Coronado that afternoon. What an awesome place--we'll definitely be staying here again! On Friday, we went to the world-famous San Diego Zoo. I was very impressed--probably my fave zoo ever! I would highly recommend it! A few pics... Then we met up with April, Oscar, and the girls at Balboa Park, followed by dinner. So good to see them! Saturday, we visited the USS Midway, one of the longest-serving naval aircraft carriers in the US--very impressive tour! After a tired mommy took a nap that lasted too long, we took a walk at sunset on the private beach at the Lodge. So nice! :) And we headed back on Sunday morning! It was so nice to get away & reflect on the 2 of us, before we become 3 :) Hope all of you enjoyed your weekend as well! Love to all!
~Daisha 2/20/2014 2 Comments Week 24Matthew is the size of a cantaloupe! :)
Quick update: Matt is doing great! He just keeps growing--he's around 24 ounces now. My follow-up ultrasound showed no change in my condition, but they didn't put me on bed rest, so hallelujah! I go again in 3 weeks--keep praying! Aron & I are headed to San Diego for our "babymoon"--I'll let you know how the trip went when we return! Love to all! ~Daisha 2/16/2014 5 Comments Christmas in February!!!Saturday was a good day :) As many of you know, Aron has driven a Mustang for the past 12 years. It was his baby. He spent lots of time & money making it his "speedster". It's the car we drove around in on our first date, the car I saw him race out on the track, and the car everybody wanted to ride in at least once... And then came the family :) Before people start booing me, let me explain. Back in '09, the same night I saw him race the 'stang out on the track, I met one of his friends, who also owned an '02 Mustang. He was also the father of a baby girl no more than a year old who had been stuffed in the backseat! I'd never seen something so uncomfortable & unsafe in all my life :( I made a mental note that night that car seats--in no way, shape, or form--belong in the backseat of a Mustang! Needless to say, Aron has been researching new cars for quite some time now, and long story short, it all came to fruition today! Meet his new "baby": the 2014 Mazda CX-5! It's a great car, and--you all know Aron--the safest crossover with the best gas mileage out there! Of course, we were sad to see the Mustang go, but we look forward to our little family riding in style for years to come :) And, to top off our day, look what was waiting for us when we got home! The Graco FastAction Fold Jogger Click Connect Travel System in Chili Red :)
Quick story. I bought this system from Amazon on Friday morning, after stalking the price for a couple of months. I took a chance on what they labeled as "used: good" condition because apparently only the packaging was damaged, and the price was almost half off the retail price. I could live with damaged packaging as long as the stroller was new & undamaged. Man, did I get lucky! This system not only arrived the next day but in PERFECT condition!!! Aron put it together in under 10 minutes--it was so easy! So, we had a good Saturday :) I hope you all had a good Saturday as well! Lots of love! ~Daisha 2/13/2014 3 Comments Week 23Matthew's the size of a grapefruit! And apparently growing little nipples :) So exciting!
I had my regular DRs appointment yesterday, and everything went fine. Matt is measuring just right for his "age" and decided to camp out right under my belly button while she checked for his heartbeat--little stinker! From here on out, I'll be going back every 2 weeks. My next ultrasound is on Tuesday--start praying now for no bed rest!!! All is well here in AZ. To my fam in the South with all the snow: feel free to visit whenever you like--we're in the 80's already ;) Love to all! ~Daisha 2/9/2014 7 Comments Nursery, part 1So after we made it back from IKEA, it was assembly time! Here are before & after pics of Matthew's nursery, so far. We're headed to Babies R Us today for registry stuff & more shopping! Week 22 belly shots will come shortly--whenever my husband wakes up :) 2/9/2014 4 Comments IKEA!!!Oh, IKEA! It's a good thing it's 2 hours from us, because if we had one here in Tucson, I'd be broke :)
So Aron and I ventured up to IKEA yesterday to buy some stuff for the nursery & house. I knew all the dimensions of the stuff we were buying, so I measured Roja (she's my car, for those who don't know :) ) to make sure it would all fit; otherwise, we would need to rent a truck. Turned out Roja would fit everything just fine, so we went shopping (plus, our luck with rentals these days has obviously run out)! After perusing & getting the stuff we wanted, it was time to pack it up. I should preface this by saying that originally I had picked a TV stand that I knew was going to fit just fine, based on the measurements, but Aron "convinced" me at the store to get something else that was 10 inches longer. {Long sigh} Turns out that 10 inches would result in some Tetris-like, expletive-laced, "who dropped the atom bomb" antics as we attempted to get all the stuff in the car! It was quite hilarious afterwards, and here's my baby, post-mushroom cloud... 2/6/2014 4 Comments Week 22Today starts week 22--Matthew's the size of a papaya! He feels bigger than that :) I commented to Aron last night that I didn't feel him move around a lot that day, so I started poking my belly to rouse him, and sure enough, he started kicking me! So obedient :) Then I read today that he will start his sleep cycle this week--12 to 14 hours. So now I understand why he was so quiet all day...
I'm feeling good for the most part. Low back is sore, so I'm making friends with my heating pad almost every day. Other body changes are happening, but I'll spare you those details ;) Aron, as usual, is so helpful--he does a great job taking care of his "babies"! Next regular appointment is next week, then the follow-up ultrasound is the week after that. Continue to pray that my "lady parts" cooperate with me, and the DRs don't put me on bed rest! Love to all! ~Daisha 2/5/2014 2 Comments Welcome to my blog!Hello all! I decided to start a blog for a couple of reasons:
