3/31/2014 2 Comments Week 29 & more!My bad! My days are truly running together at this point. I'm pretty sure I wouldn't get anything done without iCal :)
Week 29 means little Matt is the size of an acorn squash! I don't know about squash, but I know he's moving around in here like he's going for gold at the Olympics! Luckily, he cooperated at the 3D ultrasound on Friday & we got some good pics (see post below). Another regular ultrasound for me on Tuesday to see how things are going... On Sunday, we participated in the 16th Annual Komen SAZ Race for the Cure. I believe this was my 8th race here in Tucson & Aron's 4th. Instead of doing the 5K, we did the 1 mile walk, which was a wise choice considering my left hip was on FIRE at the end! But it was still a good day, supporting a worthy cause! 29 weeks. Can't believe he'll be here in less than 8 weeks! Time flies :) ~Daisha

3/23/2014 2 Comments Online shower/chat!Today ended a week-long online baby shower I attempted so all our family & friends could feel included in the gift-giving process. It was a lot of fun! We spent all week on FaceBook answering trivia questions & playing games. Today, I was able to do an OoVoo online chat with most of the people who participated throughout the week. It wasn't without its glitches, but it served its purpose :) Thanks to everyone who took time out of their day to be with us, especially since we had people from all over the country--plus Canada :) OoVoo only allows 12 connections, so I promised to post pics of the gifts we've received thus far so anyone could see. Here they are! Aron & I feel very blessed to have you all in our lives & can't wait for little Matthew to feel the same! Thank you all so much!!!
~Daisha 3/20/2014 2 Comments Week 28...and the shower :)Officially in my 3rd trimester! Matthew is the size of an eggplant this week and continues to develop all the necessary functions for living outside the womb. I personally think he's ready to get out--I've noticed some Shawshank-like moves lately around my belly button :) This week also kicked off my online baby shower. It has been an absolute hoot! I love reading all the comments and answers to the trivia questions, and people seem to be a little more competitive than I thought :) It all culminates this Sunday in an online chat via OoVoo--I'm hoping it works! Today is International Day of Happiness! I can honestly say I am a very happy woman :) I have a husband who quotes the latest John Legend song to me because it reminds him of me. I have a son growing inside me who I cannot wait to meet. And I have family & friends who not only love me, but take time out of their busy schedules to participate in an online baby "shower" all week just so I can feel close to them! Life is GOOD, and I'm happy! Enjoy the video :) ~Daisha 3/18/2014 0 Comments Already Adorable...we hope!Well, today Aron & I went to a company called Already Adorable to do a 3D/4D ultrasound--you know, the kind where you see your baby up close & personal before the Big Day! Little Man had been pretty inactive all day--he sleeps during my TurboKick classes :) On my drive to the appointment, he started moving around, giving me hope he would continue during the scan. No such luck :( For almost 45 minutes, the lady tried her hardest to get Matthew to cooperate (not even MY normal methods worked), but my son decided it was nap time, and instead of us seeing his face, he turned his back to us & put his arm behind his back! With the exception of his left leg also being up by his head, he pretty much sleeps like his father :) Any-who, since Matthew was in nap mode, we re-scheduled for next week. Also like is father, Matthew gets antsy when he hasn't been fed, so I think I'll go to the next appointment in slight starvation mode... ;)
So for the past 4 days, I've been covering a big baseball tournament that my school has hosted for the past 3 years. The tourney is run very well, and we've doubled in size each of the years, with 16 teams this year. However, this calls for LONG DAYS/NIGHTS! Wednesday through Friday had me coming home around 830 or 9. Saturday was a different story :( Luckily for me, my Aron came to keep me company around noon and stayed til the bitter end--we left the school around 11pm! It was fun having him there with me all day--I love him :) On Friday, the baseball program presented Matthew (that's right--the child who hasn't been born yet!) with a SR t-shirt and socks! I missed the actual presentation, which was during the tournament's awards ceremony, because I was covering softball at the time, but they gave me his gear when I returned to the baseball field that night... 17 games in all (not to mention a track meet, boys tennis match, and softball game during that time)--I'm exhausted! Sunday is for rest :) Love to all!
~Daisha 3/13/2014 2 Comments Week 27...& 3rd trimester!!!Matthew is the size of a rutabaga! I've never had a rutabaga, but I'm guessing it's bigger than lettuce :) He's also practicing breathing and has brain activity! I can tell you he's 2lbs, 6oz already, based on Tuesday's ultrasound. He's doing great! Keep the prayers coming, and don't forget the online shower starts this Sunday via FaceBook...
3/9/2014 1 Comment Nursery, part 3The crib!!! So easy to put together, and we LOVE the color! Shout-out to Amy, Mom & Daddy-O, and my school nurse, Susan, for accessories :)
3/8/2014 1 Comment Nursery, part 2Finally!!! We've had a helluva time trying to order our crib & glider, but long story short--THEY ARRIVED! Because I haven't slept in 2 days, Aron feared I would fall asleep while assembling the crib, so we just did the glider last night :) Plans to do the crib later today...
